RE: THE COMMUNITY BOOK EXCHANGE
Many Thanks to all those people who have shown an interest in the proposed Community Book Exchange. A particular thanks to all of those who have generously donated books to date and have approached me with promises of books in the future.
The Yandoit Hall Committee have approved the location of the Book Exchange to be on the side verandah near the kitchen door entrance.
I am currently trying to find, buy or have built a weather proof cupboard to store the books and allow easy access to all users. It will be under cover, but the books will still need protection from dust, termites etc.
If anyone is able to assist with the above request it will be greatly appreciated. Once we have storage we can open up our ‘Free Library” to the community. We have a budget of $200 to this end.

A local Trade Fair will be held on Sunday 20 September 2015, 10am – 1pm at the Yandoit Hall to showcase and celebrate the skills, trades and creativity within the Yandoit, Franklinford and Clydesdale areas.
The Trade Fair aims to encourage the local communities to support, trade and buy locally. A Trade Directory of ‘where to go to get it’ with details of the registered local trades, skills, and creativity will be compiled and handed out on the day.
‘Trade, swap and sell’ are all possible: You may have items no longer in use that you are interested in selling or that could be exchanged for much needed skills, goods or services. The Trade Fair is a great opportunity to make that fair exchange.
There will be small cost of $5.00 per exhibitor to cover the hall cost and the Trade Directory.
Calling for expressions of interest – Take part in the Trade Fair
There are many ways you can take part: Register your interest in having a stall or exhibit; join the Planning Group; or register to help out on the day.

I have a couple of desktop computers here (box only, no monitor), which I will make available for free extended loan. So if your computer dies, or gets infected with something disgusting, you can have one of these until you get it fixed or replaced. They are not quite state-of-the-art, but more than adequate for net-surfing, email, word processing (with Libre-Office), etc.. Use your own monitor, keyboard and mouse if you can, otherwise I might be able to supply.
